Long-Term Course Discounts
We offer discounts for courses which are eight weeks or longer in length. Apply the discount percentage to the the relevant Step 1 or Special Programme fees.
Discounts apply from the week noted. For example, a 14-week course would have 7 weeks with 0% discount, 4 weeks with 16% discount, and 3 weeks with 20% discount.

Course Information
Homestay Language Immersion
Peak period: all study weeks between the first Sunday in June and the first Saturday in September inclusive (weeks 23 to 36). Peak / off-peak pricing is applied to all study weeks falling within each period. For example, a four-week course starting on 26 May would have one week of off-peak pricing and three weeks of peak pricing applied.

- Full-board homestay accommodation in the host tutor’s home
- A comfortable bedroom with access to a private study area
- Two accompanied excursions or activities per week (Monday – Friday)
- Fully personalised study materials
- Online pre-course assessment
- End of course assessment
- End of Course Report and Certificate
- WiFi access
- Transfer from local train or bus station
- 24-hour multilingual student helpline
Standard Young Learner programmes include:
- Pre-course 30-minute online ‘Meet your Tutor’ session

Fees: For Standard Programmes, calculate weekly course fees by summing the Step 1, Step 2 and Step 3 products. For courses with multiple participants, apply a 20% discount to the total. Special Courses are standalone and do not require summing with other products.
Dates: Standard arrival is on Sunday afternoon / evening and departure on a Saturday morning. The first lesson is on Monday, unless otherwise requested.
Meet Your Tutor: All students receive a 30-minute online session with their tutor before the start of their homestay language immersion course. This acts as part of the needs analysis and also enables tutor and student to get to know each other. If a course is split between two or more tutors, the student may have a session with each tutor.
Courses with multiple participants: These are offered at 20% discount on the one-to-one price per person. Students must have similar language levels. A Separate Rooms supplement applies should separate rooms be requested.
Family Language: Ideal for families who wish to study together. Depending on student levels, lessons can either be shared 2:1 or taken 1:1 in parallel. Where separate 1:1 lessons are required, the purchased hours are split according to the students’ preference (for example, 7.5 hours each for a 15 hour programme). This programme is only open to families, not friends or colleagues.
Exam Preparation: We provide intensive preparation for the following language examinations:

Language for Work: A generalised business language course, with a focus on developing the language required for the modern office workplace. Students requiring content tailored to a particular industry or job role should take a Professional Language course.
Professional Language: Our executive programme for businesspeople and professionals with specific needs related to their job. Students are matched with host tutors with a professional knowledge of their industry.
Academic Language: Designed for Academic and Higher Education students who need to study in a foreign language. The course develops the special skills and formal language required to achieve academic success.
Super Short Courses: A highly intensive choice for busy students. Courses can start any day of the week (including weekends). Fees are set for all locations – no City or Prestige Homestay supplement applies.
- Super Short Course 1: 3 days / 2 nights: 15 hours’ tuition
- Super Short Course 2: 4 days / 3 nights: 20 hours’ tuition
Language Plus: A programme for adults who would prefer more cultural and social experiences and fewer formal lessons during their stay. Students can make specific requests for cultural excursions in advance of their course start, based on teachers’ recommendations. Costs must be covered by the student. Study options:
- 15h language tuition and two cultural excursions per week
- 10h language tuition and three cultural excursions per week
- 5h language tuition and four cultural excursions per week
Language for Teachers: Designed for EFL or MFL teachers. The course focuses on developing tuition skills and knowledge, as well as building communication skills and classroom language. Students are matched with a host tutor who is experienced in delivering teacher trainer programmes. Flexibility of location is required.
City supplement: Applied to all courses taking place in specified locations:

Edinburgh Festival: All courses taken in Edinburgh during the Festival period (27 Jul – 30 Aug) are charged an additional weekly supplement.
Christmas / New Year: All courses starting between 21 Dec – 31 Dec are charged a one-off (not weekly) supplement.
Dietary Requirements: We always do our best to accommodate special dietary requirements. However, we reserve the right to require a weekly contribution of £60 / €70 / $80 from the student if this involves the host tutor purchasing special ingredients (e.g. gluten-free products).
Airport Transfers: Airport transfers are obligatory for all under-16s unless they are accompanied throughout by a responsible adult. Students aged 16-17 may travel independently with their parents' consent. If an Unaccompanied Minor service is required on departure a supplement of £85 / €85 /$95 applies. Please see Transfer Information for further details.
Unsocial Arrival / Departure Times: Students arriving at or departing from a host tutor’s home between 22h00 and 06h00 will be charged a supplement of £45 / €55 / $70.
Accompanying Adult / Child: Accompanying persons receive room and board only. Fees exclude the cost of childcare (if applicable).
Age Restrictions: Students aged 10-17 are welcome to apply for our Young Learner programmes.
Students aged 10-13 are required to choose a Fast Track (25 hours per week) Standard programme. They receive 15 hours’ formal lessons and 10 hours’ crafts, games and other activity-based learning, as well as standard afternoon and weekend excursions. Students aged 10-13 may also choose the Lifestyle Programme.
Students aged 14-17 may choose any programme.
J2J Programme: Our very popular two-to-one summer programme, where students are matched with a partner of a different nationality and first language, carefully selected to match ages, interests and level in the language of study. The J2J programme is for 14- to 17-year-olds with a language level from A2 to B2. Students must be flexible on location. Students enjoy complete immersion and make friends from across the world at the same time!

Excursions Focus: An ideal programme for students who want less formal tuition and more time spent discovering their country of study via cultural excursions. Courses include 10h tuition and four excursions per week (Monday - Friday), as well as the standard weekend excursion for courses 2+ weeks in duration (YL Excursions Focus only).
Activities Focus: A programme designed for students who want to focus on a particular activity during their course. Courses include 10h tuition and up to four activities per week (Monday - Friday), as well as the standard weekend excursion for courses 2+ weeks in duration. Students can choose to switch activity sessions for excursions if they wish.

Lifestyle Programme: A great choice for participants who want to experience living with a host family, with four cultural excursions per week included (Monday - Friday), as well as the standard weekend excursion for courses 2+ weeks in duration (YL Lifestyle Programme only). The programme does not include formal tuition hours.
Personal Tuition Programme (PTP)
Seasonal pricing:

Programme contents: PTP courses include 1:1 or small group face-to-face tuition, but no accommodation. They are ideal for students who already live in the country of study, or who wish to arrange their own accommodation during their stay.
Lessons can be studied either at the teacher’s home, or at the place the student is staying, as per the student’s preference.

InTuition Online Programme (IOP)
IOP courses are designed to be flexible around students’ commitments. Booking process:
- Students are matched with a tutor based on their academic and personal requirements.
- They then have a free 30-minute trial lesson with our selected tutor.
- If they wish to proceed, the student purchases a block of 15 hours of lessons (or more, in 5-hour increments).
- The student and tutor liaise directly to arrange the study timetable.
- Once the purchased lessons have been completed, the student may choose to purchase additional hours in 5-hour increments.
IOP courses can be bought as standalone products or in combination with a homestay immersion course.
Homestay language immersion students adding an IOP product to their course package receive a 10% discount on the standard IOP gross price. Students may choose to add IOP products to their package before, during or after their homestay course, and lessons may be taken before or after their homestay course.
